BOULES AT LAST! / UPCOMING GREAT NORTH WOOD EVENTS /  AN EVENING OF CRIME

We’re all invited to the first annual Petanque-a-Ding-Dong tournament up at the Petanque court, top of the park by Church Road entrance, on Sunday 27th 3-5pm. Prizes, face painting, music and fun! AN EVENING OF CRIME Thursday 7th September 7.30

Join Bookseller Crow on Westow Street  for an evening with the brilliant authors Sarah Ward and Chris Whitaker where we’ll be hearing their latest crime and noir fiction.

Sarah Ward is the author of In Bitter Chill, which was published in 2015 to critical acclaim. Her new novel is A Patient Fury which is the next book in the DC Childs series. On her blog, Crimepieces (www.crimepieces.com), she reviews the best of current crime fiction published around the world, and she has also reviewed for Euro Crime and CrimeSquad. She is a judge for the Petrona Award for Scandinavian translated crime novels. She lives in Derbyshire.

Chris Whitaker was born in London and spent ten years working as a financial trader in the city. His debut novel, Tall Oaks, was published to critical acclaim in 2016 by Bonnier Zaffre. Tall Oaks was a Guardian crime book of the month as well as featuring in Crime Time’s top 100 books of 2016 and BuzzFeed’s incredible summer reads. His second novel is All The Wicked Girls.
