Tea in the Tabernacle

St Peter’s Church Kennington is built on the site of the former Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens – drop-in storytelling session about the sacred and historic objects found there.
Jake Arnott’s Film Night
Saturday 16 September 6.30pm
Jake is the Lambeth author of the ‘Long Game’ trilogy (adapted for TV as ‘He Kills Coppers’). His latest novel is set in London’s 18th century criminal underworld. Hear about the films that inspire him.
Brockwell Park (Talk)
Sunday September 17 2.30pm to 4pm
Brockwell Park – crowned by a Regency Villa – is an almost intact version of the estate created in the 1800s. Historian Peter Bradley talks visitors through the journey from estate to public space.
Brixton Windmill Harvest Festival

Featuring rural crafts workshop, food, farm animals, local musicians and family fun
Open House London
For lovers of history and lovers of London, this is also the weekend of the annual London Open House festival when rarely-seen architectural treasures old and new are on display. There are buildings open in every borough in London, including Lambeth.

NORWOOD HISTORY TALK
The Norwood Society talks resume on Thursday 21st September at 7.30 at the Upper Norwood Library, SE19 1TJ.
Dead bodies can’t lie – Poor Yorick and a moving tale of mass burials at Norwood Cemetery. Colin Fennreturns with another of his fascinating talks, this time about the moving of corpses from St George’s Hanover Square to Norwood Cemetery.
DOWN TO EARTH TALK
Thursday 21st September Down to Earth – how you can make a difference for wildlife. Ornithologist Dave Clark talks about the ecology in our local landscape. Sam Bentley-Toon from London Wildlife Trust talks about the Great North Wood. Free science talk at the lodge in Crystal Palace park. 7.30pm t 9.30pm 16 plus only.

We are delighted to have made it across the finish line with the support of 144 pledgers including the Mayor of London, the Mayor of Croydon, Croydon councillors, generous private donors and many community pledgers – every little bit helped us get there!

The Anthem For Peace
We will be keeping you updated about the composition of this beautiful new piece of music which everyone is invited to sing, speak, dance and play in their own way.
London Mozart Players have recently announced that the lyricist will be Selina Nwulu – more info here.
We are looking forward to singing, dancing and playing this together at vibrant cross-community events.
