NEW INTERIM LAMBETH CHIEF EXECUTIVE IS ANDREW TRAVERS – BUT WHICH ANDREW TRAVERS??????

Tomorrow night’s Lambeth council meeting will be asked to appoint one Andrew Travers as interim chief executive in succession to Sean Harriss.

News From Crystal Palace asked Lambeth council’s press office for information on Mr Travers. So far, none forthcoming.

A quick check on Google found:

Andrew Travers: an interaction designer and researcher. He’s the author of Interviewing for Research.

Andrew Travers: 2nd Assistant Superintendent at Essex County Club. Greater Boston Area. (USA).

Andrew Travers: Group Hotels & Development Manager at Kenlynn Development Corporation Brisbane, Australia; and

Andrew Travers. Consultant. Halliford Associates Ltd.

Andrew, a CIPFA accountant, has spent most of his career in London local government.  He was Director of Resources at Haringey Council and then Group Director, covering Resources and Olympic Legacy, at the London Development Agency. He then moved to Barnet Council, becoming Chief Executive in 2012 and leading one of London’s most ambitious development programmes.  He stepped down in 2016 and is currently working as a consultant.  Among other roles he is helping Barking and Dagenham set up an ambitious new borough-wide regeneration and development company.

Brixton Buzz website says Lambeth’s new interim chief executive is the former chief executive at Barnet. With Lambeth saying nothing, it’s hardly surprising they’re looking to spend £3 million on improving their communications…….
