THURSDAY / FRIDAY

COMMUNITY ENERGY SCHEME – HAVE YOUR SAY!

From Croydon North MP Steve Reed:

I have long campaigned for Croydon to have its own community energy co-op.  I helped set up a similar scheme in Brixton and have introduced Repowering London, the organisation that grew out of that initiative, to Croydon Council.

A community energy co-op would work with Croydon residents to run renewable energy projects that generate electricity sustainably and create local jobs with any profits being ploughed back into the community.

Similar schemes have already proved extremely popular in Brixton, Hackney, Plymouth and many other parts of the country.

If you’d like to find out more about how community energy could work in Croydon, please attend one of Repowering London’s events:

Thursday 7 December, 2-8pm – South Norwood Leisure Centre 164 Portland Rd, London SE25 4PT
Friday 8 December, 2-8pm – Thornton Heath Leisure Centre 100 High St, Thornton Heath CR7 8LF

FRIDAY 8TH DECEMBER

Make a Christmas wreath for the Patchwork Farm

The Patchwork Farm Stall at the Crystal Palace Food Market will be holding a special Christmas themed stall on the 9th December. We are planning to have homemade wreaths, Christmas cards and festive lavender bags (and anything else people may want to donate). If you would like to volunteer on the stall please get in touch with me: marina@environmentalfreelancers.com

We will be making Christmas wreaths for the market stall on the 8th of December at the Paxton Centre from 2pm. Anyone is welcome.

If you have any material, ribbons, wires, pine cones, foliage and anything else a wreath might need please bring it. Any and all donations will be gratefully accepted. If you would like to help to make wreaths or bringing material feel free to just turn up on the day. If you want more information please email marina@environmentalfreelancers.com
