We’ve also been working on something extra special for the past few months, and will have limited quantities available of our new fermented chipotle hot sauce. Natural wine – Wine Scouts  Christmas is around the corner so we are getting serious now. This Saturday we will open two fine wines. First, the lovely Arbois Follasses Gahier from Jura in France: this is a complex, lively Chardonnay that is typical of this style of wine from the Jura with just a hint of those nutty qualities that aficionados just can’t get enough of. All of that combined with pure apple, peaches and creamy flavours. No sulphites are added to this organic wine at any stage. Also, a wintery red from Tuscany in Italy, the Sellari Morellino di Scansano: lots of cherry and earthy aromas on the nose. Intense palate with soft tannins. Morello is the top wine from this small estate and is produced from the oldest vineyards and primarily made from Morellino grapes (92% ), a clone of Sangiovese. This wine is aged for 24-25 months in large oak barrels before release. Come taste!

Cakes – Brett & Bailey The boys say,”Joy to the world! We’re at the market this Saturday with a huge range of handmade, luxury Christmas baking. Expect plenty of our luxury handmade puddings, our last remaining full-size Christmas cakes, stollen swirls, and our spectacular ‘White Christmas’ cake with Cointreau-drizzled almond sponge, white chocolate buttercream and spiced sweetened cranberries.  We’ll also have a couple of new treats on the menu – choose a slice of gingerbread latte cake with creamy mascarpone frosting, or a mulled wine pear and chocolate square. You’ll find them on the stall along with Ambassador’s cheesecake, double carrot cake, peanut butter bars, triple chocolate cookies, sticky buns, cardamom knots, and our indulgent salted chocolate brownies.  Thinking of doing a spot of Christmas shopping?
