CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM BROMLEY COUNCIL: PLEASE RECYCLE THAT WRAPPING PAPER!

Did you know that last year, Bromley council say that last year they sent the lowest amount of waste to landfill but this still cost nearly £3.2m in landfill tax.

Reducing costs by recycling more is key. Don’t forget over the festive season that you can recycle all your wrapping paper and cardboard boxes, so separate these out and put bottles and cans etc to one side ready for collection.

Research also shows that the average dustbin contains a huge 28 per cent of food – food that should go in your food waste container please.

Bromley are also asking people to please familiarise themselves with the revised Christmas and New Year waste collections detailed on our website. You’ll also find information about council services and opening times over the festive season.

SMUT IN THE LIBRARY

Upper Norwood library book group’s next gathering will take place on Saturday 6th January at the usual time of 2.30pm, when they will be poring over Alan Bennett’s Smut.
