Vegan lunch – Return to Shashamane Emilia is making us “New sweet – raw vegan carrot cake. Salads & sauces – chickpea salad with wakame seaweed; kidney beans with cardamom seeds and fresh tarragon; butter beans toasted with seeds and herbs; Mexican cabbage salad with herbs, chillies and onion; polenta chips; coriander chimmichurri sauce; quinoa salad. Hot – butter beans puree; spicy sauce with cayenne pepper; lentil tikka masala stew.”
Lunch – Meru Galettes Sweet crepes or savoury buckwheat galettes.
Lunch & deli – Comfort & Joy Hot tasty wraps, salads and those famous (enormous) scotch eggs plus takeaways – curries, lasagne and more.
Ferments – Terra Ferments Justin says “Our first batches of 2018 are in! We’ll be there with our trio of favourites – Kimchi, turmeric kraut, and salvadoran curtido – plus a couple new treats. Some of you got to try the first micro batch of our Chipotle hot sauce, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive! So it’s now a permanent addition to the team. Also coming along, brand new, old-style lacto fermented wholegrain mustard. It’s a delicious mustard fortified with unpasteurised organic apple cider vinegar. Look forward to seeing everyone there!
Smokery – London Smoke & Cure Ross says “Okay then good people of Crystal Palace, cancel your Saturday appointments in the city, grab your cotton tote bag and get yourselves down to London’s friendliest market cause we and the other traders have got some true delights for you. Always considerately sourced and priced with value in mind, there’ll definitely something to make your day or improve your meals through the week.
On our table this week we’ve got some brand new, super delicious cheeses including those amazing raw milk Innes goat logs, a brand new Colston Basset Stilton and an amazing Gorwydd Caerphilly that’s good enough to make you cry.
There’ll be a few new additions to the meat slate, including some super spicy Nduja, Italian Coppa and locally made Perinelli salami alongside our own hot smoked duck breast and dry-cured organic bacon.
And for the fish lovers amongst you there’ll be some sumptuous hot smoked Scottish salmon (sweet, moist and smokey) as well as our own sashimi-grade cold-smoked salmon and a few tubs of salmon pate. Looking forward to seeing you down there.”

Cheese & charcuterie – Capo Caccia Antonio says “On Saturday I’ll have pre-sliced gluten free cured ham, spicy and Myrtle salami. Smoked ricotta, Pecorino Fiore Sardo, olive oil and Sardinia sauces.”
Raw milk, butter & other dairy – Hook & Son Organic raw milk and dairy, from farmer Steve’s closed herd on the Pevensey Levels. Dates for this year’s annual Crystal Palace Overground Festival in its new home in Crystal Palace park have been announced.

The Scale of Things is a book to entertain, inform and engage you with amazing facts morphed by scale and graphically illustrated. We want to reach into your mind and make bits of it boggle as you picture and percolate the joys of science and understanding conveyed in a new way.
Mike Fairbrass is a writer and creative consultant. The former Head of Modelmaking and Photography at Richard Rogers’ practice, his models have been exhibited around the world.
He has written for The Architects’ Journal, taught at The Royal College of Art and run educational workshops at The Design Museum, The V&A and The Royal Academy of Arts. “Mystic” Mike is also the Virgin Radio UK official (satirical) astrologer.
