The weather has forced the cancellation of tomorrow’s (Saturday) Crystal Palace food market at Haynes Lane – but the antiques and collectables market there will be open as well as the second-hand bookshop outside.
Laura and Karen who run the market issued a statement on Wednesday saying: “This is primarily for the safety of the public as well as access issues for traders.
“We’ve done well to have made nearly five years without a cancellation up until this point. “Back to normal next week.”
“Some of our traders & friends will still be operating from their own bases.
Lunch & deli – Comfort & Joy Andrea will be opening the Comfort & Joy cafe with all the favs from her stall. She’ll be at 79a Church Road, Crystal Palace SE19 2TA. Open 10-3. Hot tasty wraps, salads and those famous (enormous) scotch eggs plus takeaways – curries, lasagne and more.
Smokery – London Smoke & Cure Ross says “What a week! Gutted that there’s no market but we quite understand why it had to be cancelled on this occasion and hopefully the market team will get to have a much earned day off.
“We’ll have a great range of our handmade produce on the table – fresh pates, hot and cold smoked salmon, charcuterie, smoked bacons and cheese – you’ll be well catered for. “We’ll even get the fire going so it’ll be nice and toasty.”
Ferments – TerraFerment Justin says “Even though the market is off this Saturday, you can still pick up your cultured veg and fermented condiments. “As ever you can place orders on our website http://www.terraferment.com/shop or if you want to arrange for local collection, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org we can figure something out. “See you soon!”
