CROYDON: FREE ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE OVER EASTER

Young people can sign up now for free activities and workshops taking place at youth centres across Croydon over the Easter break.

From music production workshops to boxing training; lyric writing sessions to street golf; DJ masterclasses to drama; employability advice to art and crafts, there is a huge range of activities on offer for everyone.

Organised by Croydon council, the Easter programme will also include outreach work, and advice and guidance sessions, with a special focus on topics such coping with exam stress, post-16 applications and employment advice.

The programme will run 3-13 April at locations across Croydon, including Samuel Taylor Coleridge Centre; Goldcrest Youth Hub; Braithwaite Hall; Winterbourne Youth Hub; Shrublands Ball Court and Selhurst sports arena. Different activities will be on offer at different centres. Information and registration forms can be found on the council webpage. Participants need to register online in order to attend the sessions.

All sessions are free of charge and open to Croydon residents aged 12-18, or up to 25 if they have a disability or learning difficulty.

David Butler, Croydon’s director of education and youth engagement said: “Our Easter programme offers a huge range of opportunities for young people to have fun, learn new skills and meet new people, whatever their interests. “At the same time we’re reaching out to offer help and advice on issues such as coping with exams, how to access jobs and opportunities.”
