OFFICIAL: CRAIG TUNSTALL GOES

Craig Tunstall has left the Gipsy Hill Federation of which he was chief executive officer.

No date of his departure has been given although News From Crystal Palace had heard rumours of his going in early February of this year.

On July 6th Education Uncovered, a subscription-only website, ran the story headlined: “Superhead leaves chain of local authority schools.”

News From Crystal Palace again asked Lambeth council for a response as it had back in February. Again, no reply was forthcoming.

But in a terse statement this morning – following an enquiry from News From Crystal Palace yesterday  – Gipsy Hill Federation told us:  “Sir Craig Tunstall, the former Chief Executive Officer of Gipsy Hill Federation, is no longer employed to work at the Gipsy Hill Federation.

“For legal reasons Lambeth council and the Gipsy Hill Federation will not be giving any further details about this at this time.

“Gipsy Hill Federation is a hard federation of six community primary schools in Lambeth and Southwark.

“Since May 2017 the federation has been run by two executive head teachers who with their colleagues have ensured that the high standard of education provided to the children has not been interrupted as a result of the absence of a chief executive officer

“If you require any further information, please contact Lambeth council press office.”

The six schools in the Federation are:

Crawford primary school, Camberwell

Fenstanton primary school, Tulse Hill

Glenbrook primary school, Clapham Park

Kingswood primary school and children’s centre, split-site school on Gipsy Road, West  Norwood

Elm Wood primary school, Carnac Street, West Norwood

Paxton primary school, Woodland Road, Upper Norwood
