It’s been a Summer Scorcher of a programme at The Paxton Centre and Autumn is no exception!

We are loving the new look exterior especially the local landmark mural which has received great reviews from our local community.

What’s on at The Paxton Centre
Introduction to Pottery
Every Monday, 29th October – 10th December
This course is designed to give beginners a rounded experience of pottery and the several techniques we use to create ceramic pieces. Over 6 weeks you will learn how to make a set of tiles, lidded box, a bowl, a vase or jug, pinch pots and various sample pieces. You will also be given a wheel throwing lesson within the course.

Pottery for All
Every Tuesday, 30 Oct – 4 December

This 6 week course is designed for beginners, returning and intermediate learners. Beginners will follow a course programme to introduce many techniques including hand building and the potters wheel. You will be introduced to many decorating resources and glazing options.

Mandala Drawing Class
Saturday 13th OctoberIn this 2.5 hours Workshop, you will be taught all the techniques you need to create your own personal Mandala drawing on canvas (25cm x25cm) and will leave the course with your own completed piece of art which you can then choose to colour or come along to one of our Mandala Painting classes and we will teach you!

Every Saturday, until 15 DecemberWeather it’s through a one of project, a series of workshops, or through regular classes, CC Creative Learning  is there to help people communicate and express themselves by developing their creative skills.

Life Drawing Late
Wed 21st NovemberThe working day’s over, dinner’s done… it’s time to head down to The Paxton Centre for Figuration Life Drawing & Animation’s Life Drawing Late. Grab a drink and get creative with the most expressive of subjects, the human form. All abilities welcome with guidance available.

After many great events now the Open Mic in The Paxton Centre is starting to really take shape and gather momentum. We welcome musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, spoken word (we’re open to random acts as well).

I’ll be reading books from our home collection and there will be some colouring-in. Age range about 2-7 years old. So come along and grab a coffee while I entertain the sprogs for a bit.
