Now it’s December, we can say the C word – Christmas! It’s time to think about your Christmas orders. The meat, fish, smokery, cheese, cake and gluten free stalls will all be taking advance orders.  Speak to the stalls in person, or look out here for full details of products, prices and order dates.

Lunch & deli – Comfort & Joy Hot tasty wraps, salads and those famous scotch eggs plus takeaways – curries, lasagne and more.  Great picnic food to take away.

Vegan lunch– Return to Shashamane All the usual wholesome goodness from Emilia. Pick and mix in a box or wrap.

Olives & extra virgin olive oil – Mar de Olivos  Mar say “I am bringing tasty Spanish olives to bright up your day, pitted manzanilla with mojo picon sauce from Canary island, spicy ones with aji, or with anchovi, lemon and thyme. for those who prefer with stone I am bringing tradicional Andalucian style olives,  chupadedos or lick your fingers, bravas,  granny’s secret and queen olives gordal. for those who don’t like olives I have nice yummy Spanish roasted almonds and healthy dried figs both from Malaga, where I come from.

With Christmas just round the corner I think that the hand made chocolate with extra virgin olive oil(with ginger, spicy, raisin or figs with sherry, violet petals among the others)  tapenade and award winning extra virgin olive oil in a nice packaging can be a unique present for your loved ones. I still have a few bottles left of the extra virgin olive oil woman’s soul, this is a special Spanish extra virgin olive oil made only by women and it’s a tribute to all the women who work in the olive oil sector. If you would like a Christmas hamper you are still on time to order one and get before Christmas.”

Ferments – Terra Ferments  Justin says “Back with all the regular favourites, kimchi, curtido and turmeric kraut PLUS limited specials including fennel with lemon and dill, and, fermented mushroom ketchup. Also, Chipotle hot sauce is back in stock! Get it while it lasts!”

Cheese & charcuterie – Capo Caccia  Antonio says “This satz, the red, the white and the ash salami, all gluten and lactose free. The smoked, the organic and the blue cheese. The fruttato verde and medio extra virgin Olive oil. The Carasau bread & smoked swordfish.”  Ask about Christmas orders on the stall.

Cakes – Brett and Bailey  Joe says “This Saturday is our 6th birthday – we launched Brett & Bailey with our first ever stall at The Alma Christmas Market on the 1st December 2012. Come and help us celebrate with cake!

Picked up your Christmas pudding yet? If not then don’t wait too long – our Great Taste Award-winning luxury puds are 2/3rds sold already, and we only have a few of our extra special 12 month matured puddings remaining. With Pedro Ximénez-steeped figs and cranberries, and generously fed with fine French calvados, these puds are the real deal and once you’ve had a taste you’ll understand why. Come early to get yours – you’ll find them on the stall alongside our luxury Christmas cakes, Christmas cake slabs, stollen swirls and a range of super-seasonal sweetness by the slice.
Expect White Christmas cake with cranberries and Cointreau, gingerbread latte cake, chocolate noisette cake, chocolate Guinness cake, and a brand new salted caramel cheesecake topped with caramel popcorn.  We’ll also have the return of mulled pear squares with rich chocolate sponge, cardamom knots, sticky buns, salted chocolate brownies, gluten-free lemon and rosemary drizzle cake, and peanut butter and milk choc chip cookies.

Local growing project –Patchwork Farm  Are you a grower or have a fruit tree in your garden?  Bring your gluts so they don’t get wasted.  Do you like local fruits and veg?  Come and see what’s on offer and pay what you want.  Find squashes this week, all donations to help the homeless.

Natural wines – Wine Scouts  Pedro says “This Saturday I’ll open a bottle of a succulent, organic red wine from the small appellation Côtes du Forez in the Loire, France. Domaine Verdier-Logel Poycelan is a delicious Gamay from volcanic soils. Intense and full bodied with dense, spicy blackberry and cherry fruit with some fine spiciness. Very juicy and richly textured with grainy tannins. So good and so drinkable, and remarkably big for a Gamay. This is utterly delicious. Come taste!”

Butter & other dairy – Hook & Son Organic dairy from farmer Steve’s closed herd on the Pevensey Levels. Please note, for the next couple of months, Hook will not be able to sell raw milk. Please click here for full details. We hope you join us in supporting the farm in this difficult time.

Bread – Levain Bakery  Chris Masembe and his team at Levain Bakery have a simple philosophy; to make artisan breads to the highest possible standards. All breads are sourdoughs and are made using their own sourdough starter, a labour of love which they have kept going since they first started the bakery.  Find Orlo or Kuba on the bread stall in the courtyard.

CBD & Moringa –Eat Moringa David says “Hey there! All my usuals, plus I’ll also have some Xmas gift sets, this will be a selection of my incense sticks plus the moringa, cbd and other ayurvedic supplements!”
