He turned up for a march @defendtheten held from occupied @FrndsofCarnegie Carnegie library to Brixton Town Hall, not to speak, but just to show genuine solidarity with ordinary people fighting for their services. Lovely man RIP.

This is gut-wrenchingly sad news. Jeremy Hardy was an outstanding and consistent advocate for social justice as well as a brilliant comedian. He will be sorely missed. RIP comrade

terribly sorry to see the awfully sad news about Jeremy Hardy. a good, kind, political man, as concerned about local politics (@defendtheten #CarnegieLibrary) as the wider picture. a real loss

SO proud! Our Save Lambeth libraries banner features in obit of the great Jeremy Hardy. Yes, he supported the libraries campaign and we thank him for it.

Community cohesion is a key pre-determinant of mental health/illness. Anecdotally we are already seeing Brexit-related rise in mental health problems

What’s your approach to estate regeneration (demolition of homes and social cleansing) in Lambeth doing for community cohesion and mental health Ed? Such hypocrisy when you are treating Lambeth citizens the way you are.
MEANWHILE, AT STREATHAM CONSTITUENCY LABOUR PARTY…….

WTF is point of ‘mass movement’ that rows about internal rule changes in order to deselect black Remainer MP whilst party leadership aids Hard Brexit and allows Tories to ruin the country? Oh and we have two council by-elections in constituency they could be helping with instead
Tom Peters @tbtpeters Jan 31
Huge hall of Labour members have come to vote on proposals for ‘all members meetings’ in Streatham CLP. There is still a big queue outside. This is what a mass movement looks like (shows image – Ed.)
Ofc the meeting has been set up by the right of the party, so every single affiliated society gets to make a statement about why their power shouldn’t be diluted (5 statements), then we can hear 2 in support of more democracy, then a vote. Hope the membership go the right way!
Even those in support of delegate structure commenting on ‘how badly the CLP has been run’, often it seems with the intention of keeping new members and ideas locked out.
A woman stands up and says she doesn’t usually speak, but had to speak up today to argue for her vote – “don’t be afraid of democracy today, support votes for all members!”
WE DID IT. WE WON. AMM IN STREATHAM.
183 votes against AMM, 190 FOR AMM!
Unofficial statement from the CLP left, for immediate release: YASSSSSSSSS
