MAJOR NEW APPOINTMENTS AT LAMBETH

Lambeth council have announced the appointments of four strategic directors:

Strategic Director, Sustainable Growth and Opportunity

Eleanor Purser and Sara Waller (Job share)

In a job share arrangement, Eleanor and Sara will lead and enable growth, development, securing inward investment, new housing and economic sustainability across the borough, ensuring that Lambeth residents have the skills and opportunities to succeed and thrive.

Eleanor and Sara bring significant commercial and leadership experience in place-making, housing and delivery, across local government, housing associations and the private sector.

They have a shared belief in partnership with residents and delivery partners as the key to achieving transformational outcomes.

Strategic Director, Resident Services

Bayo Dosunmu

Appointed following his successful secondment to Lambeth from a senior role at Homes England, Bayo will be responsible for all day-to-day services in housing, environment and customer support for residents and businesses across the borough. Bayo is passionate about creating truly 21st century local services and believes that Lambeth is a place of real future opportunity for everyone.

Strategic Director, Finance and Investment

Fiona McDermott

Fiona joins Lambeth following a successful private sector career in senior finance roles, including at KPMG. Fiona will lead on the investment in place as well as the council’s financial operations, helping elected members, colleagues and the wider borough respond to continued reductions in Government funding, the potential impact of Brexit and ensuring the wider sustainability of the authority.

Strategic Director, Integrated Health and Adult Care

Andrew Eyres

Andrew has been appointed to a new joint role to oversee Lambeth Together, the on-going improvement and integration agenda of health and care services in the borough.  Andrew has been Accountable Officer of NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) since April 2013 and since June 2017 has also held the role of Accountable Officer of NHS Croydon CCG. Andrew has also held the role of Interim Chief Executive of Lambeth Primary Care Trust.

Also newly appointed to Lambeth council, and attending the Management Board, is Paul Bates as Director of Strategy and Communications. Paul will take the lead on shaping the strategy, policy and communications work at Lambeth.

He will also work with the council’s many stakeholders and lead on ensuring that the borough’s diverse communities are better able to engage with the council and that the authority has the right plans and policies in place to support them.

Prior to Lambeth, Paul was Director of External Affairs at Notting Hill Genesis, one of the largest housing associations in the country and has held the senior communications roles at Luton BC and Barking and Dagenham LBC.

Additionally, Fiona Connolly will take up the post of Executive Director of Adults and Health from 1 October. Fiona started working at Lambeth council in November 2013. In her new role she will continue to be accountable for delivering the statutory duties of Adult Social Care. Alison McKane and Annie Hudson continue in post as Director of Legal and Governance and Strategic Director, Children’s Services respectively, completing the top team reporting to Andrew Travers.
