Almost 700 objections have been made to plans to turn the former Living Water Satisfies restaurant on the corner of Westow Street and Haynes Lane into a McDonald’s burger takeaway.
How many of the objections relate to the planned takeaway opening 24/7, how many to the units becoming a McDonald’s is unclear as Croydon council’s planning website only lists the addresses of objectors (691 at 11.20 this morning) and supporters – the latter of which has risen from 11 to 13 in the past few weeks – and not their reasons for objecting or supporting.
Closing date for objections is today (Friday). To view the application please go to Croydon.gov planning register and enter ‘Westow Street’ as a keyword.
