Double Trouble on the Gill Wing farm stall (that’s what it says on the food market website -Ed.)
Lunch – Zongo Ghanaian street food from local brother and sister team. Ghanaian chicken stew – seasoned pieces of chicken cooked in a spicy tomato sauce (GF); Ghanaian spinach stew – a warm spicy stew made with ginger, tomatoes and hot peppers (Vegan); Jollof rice; Fried plantain.
Vegan lunch – Return to Shashamane. Pick & mix in a box, wrap or tub. This week Emilia will also make a savoury sauce with aubergines. quinoa with roasted peppers, aubergines tomatoes and onions.
Lunch & deli – Comfort & Joy Hot tasty wraps, salads and those famous scotch eggs plus takeaways – curries, lasagne and more. Great picnic food to take away.
Hot Snacks – Simply Tay THOSE samosas and shahi chilli paneer & Bombay chana chaat.
Visiting stalls – including Beckenham honey and French hampers
Local honey – Bromley Beek. Local honey from Beckenham Place Park.
French Produce – Le Hamper Carefully selected & high-quality, delicious French delicatessen products. Juliette says, “I’ll be bringing some new duck liver terrines on Saturday. I also have new Corsican chutneys to go with my cheese and I will be presenting my limited edition Christmas hampers available with sparkling wine or champagne.”
Hot sauces – Chilli Brothers The tastiest homemade chilli sauces with a flavour for every occasion.
Olives – Mar de Olivos “I am bringing my usual tasty menu of olives and other delicacies from my homeland Andalucia: delicious olives chupadedos, (aka finger-licking olives), brava olives, black organic empeltre olives and manzanilla olives (that I marinate every Saturday before the market) eithe spicy, mojo-picon sauce from the Canary islands, mild flavour with piquillo pepper and sundried tomatoes or stuffed with anchovies and marinated with fresh thyme, lemon and extra virgin olive oil.
In addition to these, I’m bringing pickled eggplants, sun-dried tomatoes, queen olives and lupini beans as well as my collection of organic extra virgin olive oils made with different olive varieties:
- “Finca Duernas” evoo from organic arbequina for those wlikekes mild oils with fruity notes of banana and almonds
- “Unico” evoo from organic picual with notes of tomato on the vine.
- “Finca la Torre” evoo from biodynamically grown hojiblanca olives, a robust oil with notes of green grass and almonds, with a nice peppery finish,
They are all full of antioxidants and vitamins and go really well with other products from the market such as vegetables, meat or fish. Or why not drizzle them on your salads, pasta or even use them for dipping? And don’t forget about the chocolate made with extra virgin olive oil in different flavours, which make an original Christmas present. I’ll also have those famous organic Marcona almonds finished in organic extra virgin olive oil, which are a must-have for your tapas! And come and try the raw, unfiltered and unpasteurised “Avocado Blossom Honey” that’s produced in Malaga, my hometown. It’s a dark amber, robust and creamy honey with a gorgeous rich flavour like molasses…you’ll love it on toast with Arbequina extra virgin olive oil! Remember that you can bring your own container for the almonds or olives, if not we are happy to serve them in our deli cup made from veggies (our personal contribution to reduce the use of plastic). Cakes – Brett and Bailey “As so many of you have been asking, we can reveal that our Great Taste Award-winning luxury Christmas puddings will be back on the stall from the 16th November, so there’s just one more week to wait (and they’re definitely worth waiting for). You’ll be able to reserve yours online from the middle of next week.
Also, just to let you know that we’re closing this week’s order books a day earlier than usual, so if you need a whole cake next weekend please get your order in by Tuesday night.”

Cheese & charcuterie – Capo Caccia Artisan organic Sardinian food from Antonio, who’s based in East Dulwich. Suggestions for this week.
Starter: Organic Pecorino and gluten free Nonna salami
Main: Organic toasted fregola and smoked swordfish
Sides: Mullet roe bottarga and carasau bread
Sweet: Row Eucalyptus honey
Cheese of the week: Semimatured organic Pecorino – made with organic unpasteurized raw whole milk from Pattada, Northen Sardinia. it’s aged from 60 to 90 days. The texture, which can be white or slightly straw-coloured, is hard and compact with sparse holes and an aromatic fruity taste. The aroma is typical of sheep’s cheese with notes of wool, dry wood and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it’s buttery with good notes of toasted hazelnuts. Come and taste on the stall.
Fresh pasta –Pasta di Grazia Full range of handmade Italian pastas and sauces.
Smokery – London Smoke & Cure Made by Ross & his team in their custom-made smokery in Streatham.
Bread – Levain Bakery All breads are sourdoughs and are made using their own sourdough starter, a labour of love which they have kept going since they first started the bakery. Find Kuba on the bread stall in the courtyard.
Bakery & pastries – Bread Bread Top-notch wood-fired sourdough bread and pastries, made in Brixton.
Natural wines – Wine Scouts Organic and biodynamic wines from around the globe. Samples always offered by Pedro, who is a font of wine knowledge.

Butter & other dairy – Hook & Son Organic dairy from farmer Steve’s closed herd on the Pevensey Levels.
Eco products, beauty, artists & makers
Eco products & refills – Roots & Cycles Eco products and refill washing liquids, shampoo, castille soap and more. Becks says “We now have refillable face cream and face masks in stock. Come prepared with your small jars.” Also open Wednesday & Thursday (2-7pm) and Sunday (11am-4pm).
Original illustrations – Images Delmar Dylan sells original illustrations and also runs a picture framing service.
Candles – Kairos Moon Colourful aromatherapy candles, also in the Roots and Cycles walkthrough.
Kids clothes – Y Kairos Pretty upcycled clothes made by Snezana. Come and see her winter capes made from recycled coats.
Handmade Soaps – Echoes of Velvet Jo says, “I’m a Christmas Eve shopper but, for those of you with better organisational skills, there will be a few Christmas ideas sneaking onto the stall this week, as pictured. And, as always, I’m up for a chat about soaps and bath bombs and how to make them – the pros, the cons and the downright infuriating parts!!”
Local art & craft stall – Palace Makers At Palace Makers this Saturday we will have a wide variety of handmade work from local artists and craftspeople including, screenprints, cushions, t shirts, candles, coasters, cards, bags and purse. Come along and see if anything takes your fancy.
