Officers were called to Crystal Palace station at 6.40pm last  Sunday (1st December) following a report of a potential robbery on a train from Bermondsey.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman told News From Crystal Palace: “Armed police attended and searched the train, however no complaints were made at the scene by any parties.”

How the drama unfolded on Crystal Palace Local Facebook:

Breaking news at Gipsy Hill Station. Armed Police just pulled up guns at the ready!

I’m on the train and we’ve stopped between Gipsy Hill and Crystal Palace

Also armed police at Crystal Palace station
The train we were on waited ages in the tunnel between Gipsy Hill and Crystal Palace and when we got to Crystal Palace the driver said there would be a short delay opening the doors. Then a bunch of armed officers came down the train. One told us there was ‘genuinely nothing to worry about’. Then they opened the doors, we got off and they all thanked us for our patience.
Responding to reports of an incident (allegedly knife-crime-related robbery) on a train. All seems to be dealt with now 🙂
