THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN! Brett and Bailey at the food market with Rhubarbra Streisand and the little shops in the yard open as well (collectables market re-open soon)

Saturday 18 January

Great news.  The collectors’ market next door to us – Haynes Lane Market – will be closed for repairs for a little while longer while the supporting scaffolding is fully erected to stabilise the building.  After that, it looks like the collectors’ market will be reopening soon. (News From Crystal Palace understands that the downstairs part of the market could open next weekend but not this. Ed.)

All the little shops in the entrance to the courtyard will be open this Saturday – Sian at Alan’s Antiques, Sally at Maltpress Trading and the Book Man.

The Store Cupboard and Roots and Cycles will be open as usual. Palace Culture vegan cheese, Levain Bakery bread, Pasta de Grazia and Capo Caccia Sardinian produce (cheese, charcuterie and more) as well as Y Kairos (recycled children’s clothing) will also be trading from the courtyard this Saturday.

Lunch – Comfort and Joy Andrea’s back from Ghana and so the stall is back.  Come and get hot wraps, salads, sausage rolls and so much more.  Plus a selection of healthy ready meals, both vegan and non-vegan.

Vegan Lunch – Return to Shashamane ‘Pic and mix’ from Emilia’s tasty range of hot and cold vegan dishes.  FIND EMILIA IN THE LOWER MARKET due to the building works.

Come and meet Tom Chance to find out about the Crystal Palace Community Land Trust (CLT), a Transition Town project set up to steward land to provide affordable homes, workspace and other community assets, building local resilience and sustainability.

Come and find out about their first project, building eco-homes that are as affordable as possible at The Lawns.

The trust has been listed as one of the top 100 changemakers to look out for in 2020 by The Big Issue (see pic).  Follow them here on Twitter @CPalaceCLT.

Crystal Palace Transition Town is a community-led response to the climate emergency and as well as the CLT, runs other projects to reduce our carbon footprint and build community resilience, such as this food market and as a partner in the Library of Things.
