A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Damani Mauge in Croydon.
The teenager, from Mitcham, was arrested on Sunday, 15 March.
He has also been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 17 March and was remanded in youth custody. A provisional date for his next appearance has been set for 31 March.
Damani, 17, was found with fatal stab wounds after police were called at 20:30hrs on 8 March to a 130 bus in Whitehorse Lane, SE25.
A post mortem took place on Tuesday, 10 March. The cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
SHANUR AHMED: FURTHER ARRESTS
Detectives investigating the murder of 16-year-old Shanur Ahmed, whose father runs the hugely popular Eastern Cuisine in Gipsy Hill, have made further arrests.
The two men – [G] and [H], both aged 18 – were arrested on suspicion of murder and robbery on Thursday, 12 March.
Both remain in custody at an east London police station.
Four other males arrested on suspicion of murder – [B] 17; [C] 17; [D] 16 and [F] 16 – have been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early April.
A 20-year-old man [E] has been released with no further action.
[B], [C] and [D] were also arrested on suspicion of robbery, following an incident in Prince Regent Lane, E13 at 16.55hrs on Monday, 2 March which is currently being treated as linked to the murder investigation, say the Metropolitan Police in a statement.
