FOOD MARKET’S OPEN TOMORROW – More power to your elbows!

Crystal Palace food market in Haynes Lane off Westow Street / top of Bedwardine Road WILL be open tomorrow (Saturday) from  10 am to 3pm. .

From the Marketeers: Response to COVID-19

We have decided to stay open this week if we can. This, of course, may change due to government restrictions.

Follow our Facebook Group for updates.  We have implemented stringent measures on the stalls to minimise the risk of spreading any infection. This will include queuing systems for each of the stalls using Haynes Lane and Bedwardine Road for the busiest.  There will be volunteers to guide you to the right queues.

You can also help minimise any risks by:

  • not coming to the market if you are unwell
  • using contactless payment cards,
  • washing your hands before you come to the market
  • keeping your distance (at least 1m) from others when at the market
  • understanding that some stallholders won’t take refill containers
  • touching elbows instead of hugging/kissing

Many of our stallholders depend on you for their livings, so please keep coming.

Also Norwood and Brixton Foodbank are looking for all the help they can get at this time – details here.  We can all buy a little extra and put it into the collection point at Sainsbury’s.
