Coming up at Upper Norwood library hub – Board games, comedy night, Palace Acapella to give a moving performance – and bookings are now open for summer holiday kids camps

Booking is now open for our summer holiday children’s camps! We’ve got two weeks of our Performing Arts Camp followed by two weeks of Little Brushstrokes from Monday 29 July until Friday 23 August.

These camps are for children aged 5-11, running Monday to Friday 9:30am-4:30pm here at the Upper Norwood Library Hub. Spend the summer developing skills, making new friends and having fun.

Palace Acappella’s fundraiser to support our work has already raised more than £800! Thank you so much to Palace Acappella and to everyone who has donated so far. Fundraising like this helps us deliver our learning, wellbeing and arts programme and keep the library’s doors open. Donate here.

On Saturday 20 July Palace Acappella are giving an immersive choir performance around the building of the Upper Norwood Library Hub with well-known pop songs, beautiful folk songs, energising world music and of course, fun and much loved numbers, plus a bar serving refreshments! Book this joyous summery event here.

We’re excited to launch our Grown-Up Board Games Night on Tuesday 18 June – come along with friends or come on your own to make new ones. We’ll have some games to play but feel free to bring your own, and there’ll also be a bar serving a range of drinks open from 6pm. Pay what you can – book here.

The next Laughs at the Library is on Wednesday 26 June at 8pm – grab a drink at the bar and enjoy a free evening of stand-up comedy here at the library hub! Book your free spot here.

Always wanted to tell stories but never quite discovered your own voice? In this Creative Writing Workshop for adults with writer Cressida Peever on 29 June, you’ll try out different genres and explore new writing techniques in a safe and supported space. Find out more and book here.

From UNLH:

t’s been wonderful to see so many of you at the Upper Norwood Library Hub across the last few months – thank you for all your support in running, attending, and telling others about the community programme of activities here.

Our staff, Trustees and volunteers took part in a Theory of Change workshop recently to help us showcase the impact the hub makes in our local community, and we look forward to sharing the outcome of this in the coming months. Until then, you can read more about our impact below and how your support continues to create a ripple effect locally.

Finally, we sold out on Little Brushstrokes children’s half term camp recently, and if you need some summer places for your little ones on our performance and arts camps, do book early to secure your spaces!

Hope to see you at an event or activity here soon!
