TESSA JOWELL TRIBUTE

One minute’s silence was held behind closed doors at Lambeth council’s meeting on Wednesday for former Dulwich MP Tessa Jowell.

Mayor of Lambeth Cllr Christopher Wellbelove told the meeting tributes would be given at the council’s next meeting so “they can be given in public view.”

NO ACTION ON FALL FROM SCAFFOLDING

The Health and Safety Executive will not be taking any action following the fall of an individual from scaffolding outside the Westow House pub on the corner of Westow Hill and Crystal Palace Parade.

A HSE spokesperson said: “As the injuries sustained to the injured person did not fit the HSE incident selection criteria, we will take no further action relating to this incident.”

FIGHT ON WESTWOOD HILL: BOY HAD 15 INCH KNIFE IN RUCKSACK SAY POLICE
 
Police were called at approximately 15:15hrs on Friday, 18 May to reports of a number of males fighting in Westwood Hill, SE26.

Officers attended and a male, aged 16, believed to have been involved in the fight was stopped in nearby Crystal Palace park, say police. When searched, a knife with a 15 inch blade was found in his rucksack – he was arrested.

He has been charged with being in possession of points and blades and will appear on bail at Bromley Youth Court on 7 June.

DAWN SWOOP
 
Detectives investigating a series of night time burglaries in Bromley have carried out a dawn swoop.

Five people were arrested at locations in Bromley and across the south east on Tuesday, 22 May.

The men, who are aged between 17 and 28 years old, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary, money laundering offences and drugs offences.

They remain in custody at a south London police station.

As a result of the operation, a quantity of suspected stolen property has been seized. Officers will be working to reunite victims with items that have been unlawfully taken.

The operation began in August 2017 following a serious of burglaries that targeted high performance cars, jewellery and cash.
