The chairwoman of a Lambeth council estate’s tenants and residents association walked free from Clerkenwell court yesterday after giving two undertakings – including one not to approach a female Homes for Lambeth employee she had called a  “passive aggressive bitch.”

Dr Dreenagh Lyle was suspended as chairwoman of the TRA on South Lambeth estate – one of six which Lambeth Labour want to demolish as part of their highly controversial Homes for Lambeth policy – for a whole YEAR by a Lambeth council officer after making the comment for which Dr Lyle had apologised well before yesterday’s hearing.

As yesterday’s hearing which had been brought by Lambeth council – who paid for a barrister to attend on their\ behalf – drew to a close, Dr Lyle told District Judge Pigram: “I feel as if I’m admitting something”

District Judge Pigram replied: “You’re not admitting anything.”

Earlier he had asked Dr Lyle: “You hope to return to your position as chair?.”

Dr Lyle: “Yes.”

At the hearing’s end District Judge Pigram thanked both sides, saying: “Everyone has behaved impeccably in court.”
