Fruition Preserves Wendy says, Looks like we might be heading for a sunny, bank holiday weekend, so why not stock up on some Spring Fruition treats! For your warmer weather breakfasts, we’ll have lots of delicious low sugar compotes (mainly in smaller 300ml size); they are great with our luxurious, nutty homemade granola and a good dollop of Greek yoghurt. Lots of new season Spanish Apricot Compote is back. And for any of you bank holiday barbecuers, try our low sugar/salt homemade ketchups; a choice of Traditional Tomato, Spciy Tomato, Spiced Plum or Brown Sauce. WINE The Wine Scout  Naturally produced wines from around the world, sourced by Pedro.  Each week he opens two tasters so you can sample his range. Pedro says, “Hello! This Saturday we will taste two delicious wines. The white Cosmopote Blanc made by Domaine Plaisance Penavayre in Fronton, South West France, is a fresh, balanced, pure wine with flavours of white flowers, citrus fruit and spices. This is a delicious and vibrant blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Mauzac Verd, Sauvignon Blanc, Loin de l’oeil and Petit Manseng and is the joint effort of talented producers from Fronton, Gaillac and Limoux that wanted to celebrate their friendship ( pote translates as pal). We will also taste the red Mediterraneo Rosso Antonio Camillo from Tuscany in Italy. This blend of the Tuscan local variety Ciliegiolo with Grenache and Carignan has a loverly nose of ripe fruit with a mineral and floral background. On the palate it bursts with balsamic fruit, with a long finish and smooth tannins. Antonio’s five hectares of vineyards are spread over various soil types and different micro-climates, but all influenced by the coastal breezes and tempering influence of the neighbouring sea.
